SPECIAL  PROJECTS

I am constantly inspired by the many 1000's of people across the world who work in animal care, rescue and rehabilitation, from out in the fields to organising local events to raise awareness and fundraising.
Many of the stories bring me to tears but the one consistent emotion I most relate to is of hope.
Here I introduce some of the ways I use my art to contribute towards the survival of our wildlife
as well as donating a percentage of the sale of each original artwork to a wildlife organisation or charity.
The Snow Leopard Trust
Working in harmony with the communities living within their habitat
governments, world organisations and individuals
The Snow Leopard Trust protect and conserve the future of these beautiful cats.

A percentage of the sales of each of my prints, or original drawings are donated to the Trust:

Why do we love Lions?
"In the UK we have always held a love and respect for Lions, more so than any other country.
Lions haven’t lived on these islands since the Pleistocene era, but we feel an affinity with them that borders on the irrational.
We have Lions on our flags, our sporting teams, our money, and -

there are more Lion statues (10,000 in London alone) than there are actual Lions left in the wild".
The words of photographer and passionate wildlife conservationist George Logan.

Please take a look at the link below to learn more about the incredibly vital work being done to
to prevent habitat loss, human-wildlife conflict, captivity, trophy hunting, canned hunting and the Lion bone trade,
which all need to be addressed if we are to halt the slide towards their complete extinction
and in turn, one of the biggest threats to human survival.

Each quarter I create an artwork specifically for donation to a non-profit organisation working to protect and help wildlife.
By helping to support my work you too will be helping wildlife and helping me to continue to offer this element of my art.

My drawing "Haven" (below) is being donated to a sanctuary helping to conserve and rehabilitate gorillas and chimpanzees.

Sinbad the little rescue lion
Sinbad was rescued by Born Free Foundation, and taken to Shamwari Big Cat Rescue Sanctuary
where he lived until he passed away aged 18 in 2019.
Known as "The Little Lion", Sinbad had been kept as a photographer's prop,
as well as suffering in a zoo, so he never grew to full size.
~
In this video clip you can see Sinbad experience his freedom for the first time, both heartbreaking and touching at the same time:

My drawing of Sinbad measures 19 ins x 27 ins and I hadn't known when starting it that Sinbad had his little lion nickname
but he held a huge place in people's hearts.

 Explorers Against Extinction
In 2019 and 2020 I entered into their Sketch For Survival programme and was lucky to have been chosen as one of the 100 artists chosen for their annual art donation competition, with each year achieving over £50,000 in funds raised to help various wildlife organisations.
An amazing organisation I have also donated a further artwork independent of their annual competition.
